India’s tour of SL – Test 3 – Day 3

Now this is what you call a Test. This is more exciting than adrenaline overdosed T20. The match is evenly poised now, esp, with Sehwag snatching both openers. Earlier in the day, the Indian middle order collapsed again. Raina played very well to get to his 62. I’m turning into a fan. If only he could do this well overseas. Laxman got his trademark half century, but one expected more of him. I don’t have high expectations for Dhoni the batsmen, so wasn’t exactly surprized by the proceedings. I just had a smug smile when he was dismissed for 15.

Mishra and Mithun batted brilliantly and showed more poise that the top order (minus Sehwag). I hope that SB is wrong when he says this might be the last of Mishra we see for sometime.

The first session will be crucial tomorrow. India need to pile on the pressure and get 2-3 wickets and wrap the SL innings quickly to get a result. I think this series deserves another result.

We are in better position now. With century from sehwag on one hand and two early wickets at the stumps for sri lanka might help India to at least create some pressure for Lankans.

Although still this test looking going towards draw unless something major happens in the 4th day itself. (we are able to get them out by day 4 stumps)

Hey VM, this is via Linux-FF from workplace and it’s working. Just that they keep a close eye at workplace.

The test is indeed more competitive, but I doubt if India has the wherewithal to prise out the Lankans. Actually even as I type, I believe Ojha is trying his best.

Mishra has not helped his cause. Sure, it is difficult to just step up and bowl to claim wickets, but as a more experienced bowler in comparison to Ojha, he should have weighed in somewhat more than he has. That was his job…he beat the bat but bowled plenty of useless stuff too.

This performance will count against him for sure. It may even end it when India goes in for a double finger-spinning attack following Harbhajan’s return.

Never mind, SB. That’s the beauty of the blogsphere. We can read our thoughts later. ๐Ÿ™‚
