Deepavali (Diwali) is always a much awaited festival in most parts of India. A time for celebration and and most of all, sharing. I still remember the lovely gesture our from a nearby sweet shop owner from the time when I was going to school. He gave our family a huge box of sweets as a Diwali present. Much has changed from those times. Diwali, now, is more commercial, even a bit more mechanical. Because people shop so often now-a-days, even the Diwali shopping seems more of a chore to many. Since I noticed and experienced this a few years ago, I made it a point this year to save my purchases for Diwali – just to bring some of the magic back. And yes, I think the wait makes it so much more fulfilling. Sometimes the little things matter so much more than we think!
Here’s wishing everyone a peaceful and prosperous Deepavali.
